The Manager, Ride/Show Engineering provides technical management, inclusive of budget and schedule, for an attraction or attractions under an area of responsibility. Responsible for the successful specification, bid/award, design, production, shipping & logistics, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, with emphasis on Show Action Equipment (SAE), including mechanical show systems, animated figures, and special effects equipment and/or systems. Scope includes integration with Audio, Special Effects, Projection, Lighting, Set/Scenic, Props, Show Action Equipment, Animated Figures, Ride Systems, Mechanical Systems, Network Systems, Parkwide Systems, Ride Control, and/or Show Control Systems, and facilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Manages in-field installation, test and adjustment of show and ride systems, with a focus on Show Action Equipment (SAE) systems such as animated figures, mechanical show elements, and special effects hardware, to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Reviews designs and documentation from contractors ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and specifications, with particular attention to mechanical integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability of Show Action Equipment systems.
- Creates scope of work documentation and awards contracts to vendors based on requirements derived from interpreting creative intent and employing Universal Specifications.
- Leads design and production reviews at vendor locations ensuring product quality and specification conformance.
- Develops and oversees project schedules and budgetary demands.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
