This role is designed to support flexible working arrangements:
- Bucharest-based candidates: Hybrid work model
- Candidates based in other cities in Romania: Fully remote
- International candidates: Applications are welcome; however, relocation to Romania is mandatory if selected.

Here is what you will do:
Project Leadership & Technical Ownership
- Act as technical lead for HV primary circuit engineering on substation projects (AIS/GIS), from concept through detail design and construction support.
- Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams, including primary, secondary, civil, and commissioning engineers.
- Interface with project managers, clients, contractors, and authorities to ensure technical compliance, constructability, and timely delivery.
Primary Design & Engineering
- Develop and review HV primary circuit designs, including substation layouts, equipment arrangements, busbar configurations, and HV cable systems.
- Define technical solutions in accordance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, client specifications, and local grid codes).
- Perform site evaluations and feasibility studies to optimize layout, safety clearances, access, and future expandability.
System Studies & Technical Assurance
- Contribute to and review power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and equipment rating assessments to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Ensure technical consistency between primary design, protection requirements, and system performance.
- Identify risks and propose design optimizations to improve reliability, operability, and lifecycle performance.
Expert Support & Mentorship
- Provide expert technical guidance and decision-making support on HV primary circuit matters.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, reviewing designs and supporting their technical development.
- Act as a reference point for complex technical issues related to HV equipment and substation configurations.
Construction, Commissioning & Field Support
- Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases as required.
