We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our leadership team and reinforce our commercial resilience. This role will be essential in guiding financial strategy and ensuring our major programmes are delivered with the discipline and commercial direction required to sustain our market leadership.
Responsibilities
Report to the Hong Kong Operational Excellence Lead, the Commercial Manager shall take the proactive role and be responsible for :
- Project Review: Carry out regular project reviews and help the project teams to identify the financial risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Cost Control: Review the Cash Flow Analysis prepared by the project teams and monitor the cost expenditure for projects
- Earned Value Management (EVM): Assist the project teams for the implementation of EVM
- Margin Drop Control and Improvement: Work closely with project teams to control tightly in case of margin drop and help to improve the margins whenever possible.
- Working Capital: Assist the project teams in the reduction of Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Monitor the billings and cash collections.
- Risks & Opportunities: Proactively manage commercial risks and opportunities, leading claims management and dispute resolution strategies to ensure the firm's interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.
- Claims Management: Analyse project developments, scope changes, and design modifications to determine entitlement to variations or additional claims. Assist the project teams in preparing claim submissions to Clients.
- Contract Terms: Provide support to project teams to negotiate favourable contract terms in the bidding stage
- Commercial Mentorship: Cultivate a commercial mindset by educating project teams on risk identification, scope management, and the financial drivers of successful project delivery. Provide guidance to project teams on contractual interpretation and the commercial implications of project changes. Conduct appropriate trainings to project teams accordingly.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Serve as the primary commercial interface between Project Teams, Finance, and Legal departments to streamline operations and safeguard project margins.
- Regional Reporting: Act as a key commercial advisor to regional/subregional top management, providing data-driven insights and reporting on the performance of major projects and strategic initiatives.
