AECOM’s Rail and Transit Signals group is seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Signals Design Engineer to work with the existing Canadian Signals team, working on projects across the country. The position is open for immediate employment in the GTA, ideally based out of AECOM’s Mississauga, Ontario office, with AECOM offering flexible work arrangements for work-life balance. As a signal design team member, the successful applicant will have multiple roles.
This is a newly created role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Team Management / Leadership:
Primary role as a Signals Design engineer.
Attend client meetings.
Act as the designated signals/systems specialist.
Comply with corporate safety, values, and initiatives.
General project management duties.
Design:
Projects will be for:
North American heavy-rail freight and passenger systems to AREMA C&S standards
LRT and Subway transit systems
Perform design, review, and checking (up to 3rd level) for new and modified vital circuitry and application logic programs for automatic block systems, centralized traffic control, interlockings, and highway grade crossing warning systems.
Review own work and work done by others for adherence to applicable standards, rules and regulations, as well as all applicable client standards and signal design policies and procedures.
Prepare technical specifications.
Perform hands-on design.
Perform design, review, and P. Eng. stamping 3rd level.
