This is a Senior IT Database Analyst for Corporate Oracle database systems. The candidate should be comfortable supporting production support and project delivery work in an 24x7 and Agile environment. The selected DBA will be expected to support basic administrative installation and maintenance support in addition to complex maintenance operations and delivery support. The candidate should be self-driven, innovative, have excellent communication skills, be dependable, be action oriented, and have effective problem-solving skills. The candidate will work on projects supporting one of the country’s largest utility providers. Work is dynamic, broad in scope, and fast paced. The selected candidate will be joining a team of DBAs who are driven, open to sharing, and are tightly knit.
Responsible for the creation of physical databases per design documentation as provided by database designers, architects and/or vendors to meet business requirements.
Creation and execution of database backup and recovery processes.
On-going database performance monitoring and tuning.
Performs data optimization and access analysis.
Performs data replication, movement, and/or manipulation to meet business requirements while adhering to enterprise guidelines and standards (or seeking exceptions when appropriate).
Responsible for executing database security and auditing processes.
Responsible for database product installation, configuration, and administration.
Responsible for reporting tools installation, configuration, and administration.
Foundation in database access methods; including RDBMS and OLAP data sources.
Development and execution of SQL report optimization.
Development of data abstraction and metadata layer for end-user interfaces.
Data Analysis report design, creation, execution, and analysis.
Messaging software installation, configuration, and administration. Knowledge of XML, Java, and database access methods.
Associates degree Information Technology
Minimum 6 years related work experience
In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 7 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 8 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Previous Duke Energy experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Job-specific knowledge, skills, or abilities: 1 - Experience with Oracle 19c, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, multi-tenant, OEM, performance tuning, RMAN, and experience administering Oracle and Linux. 2 - High qualified candidates have experience with APEX, Exadata, Golden Gate, OCI and Oracle Patching.
Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
