This is an exciting opportunity to join our Production team as an MHE Trainer, reporting directly to the Production Manager. You will be the primary contact for all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) matters on site, playing a vital role in developing our colleagues and ensuring our operations remain safe and efficient.
You will lead by example, fostering a safety-first culture while managing our MHE fleet to ensure high availability of reliable equipment. Your work will directly impact the growth and professional standards of our workforce, supporting Gousto's mission to deliver high-quality results while caring for our people and the environment.
Core Responsibilities
Deliver accredited MHE and manual handling training and coaching to colleagues
Coach team members to develop safe, efficient, and professional working behaviors
Conduct regular facility inspections, COSHH risk assessments, and safety audits
Maintain accurate training records and manage MHE license re-assessments for compliance
Lead investigations and report on any MHE or environmental incidents promptly
Manage the MHE fleet on site to ensure equipment is safe and highly available
Promote positive behaviors and a safety-first culture across all operational departments
Support cross-functional safety initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Act as the main point of contact for all MHE-related inquiries and standards
Set a positive example in attitude, professionalism, and team collaboration
Who You Are
Experience training colleagues on Material Handling Equipment
RTITB accreditation or IPAF operating license
Background as a manual handling instructor with the ability to deliver compliant training
Knowledge of conducting COSHH risk assessments and warehouse safety audits
Confident in coaching others across various equipment types to promote professional standards
Ability to manage detailed training records and documentation for legal compliance
Experience in incident investigation and reporting within a warehouse or operational environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across different departments
Commitment to maintaining high safety and professional standards
Strong communication skills to effectively deliver training and influence safety behaviors
