Role Overview
The Lead of Public Relations will lead and safeguard the external reputation of Dr. Reddy鈥檚 across India and global markets. This role requires navigating a complex environment spanning generics, branded markets, biosimilars, and innovation鈥攚here regulatory scrutiny, patient impact, and public trust intersect.
You will be the central authority for media engagement, crisis response, and narrative building鈥攅nsuring the company communicates with clarity, credibility, and speed across all external stakeholders.
A critical part of this role is owning real-time response to journalists, managing high-stakes issues, and orchestrating global PR alignment across markets during both crises and major business moments such as product launches and regulatory milestones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Reputation & Narrative
- Define and drive a unified external narrative for Dr. Reddy鈥檚 across India, US, Europe, and emerging markets
- Position the company as a trusted, science-led, patient-centric organisation
- Shape messaging across generics, biosimilars, and innovation to build a differentiated reputation
2. Media Relations & Journalist Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business, healthcare, and policy media globally
- Serve as the final authority on responses to journalists, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic positioning
- Lead proactive media outreach, story placement, and leadership visibility
- Develop structured response protocols for media queries, including rapid turnaround systems
3. Crisis & Issues Management (Global)
- Own the end-to-end crisis communication framework鈥攁nticipation, preparedness, response, and recovery
- Lead communication during high-risk situations (regulatory actions, product quality issues, pricing scrutiny, legal matters, ESG concerns)
- Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Quality, and Medical Affairs to ensure fully compliant and aligned responses
- Coordinate with global markets and regional teams to ensure one aligned voice across geographies
- Build and run crisis simulations and readiness programs across markets
4. Global PR Coordination
- Act as the central node connecting India HQ with PR teams/agencies across US, Europe, Russia/CIS, and other key markets
- Ensure message consistency and contextual adaptation across regions
- Support local teams in handling market-specific media, while maintaining enterprise narrative integrity
- Drive alignment during global announcements, crises, and cross-market product communications
5. Product, Pipeline & Regulatory Communications
- Lead PR strategy for product launches, approvals, and key pipeline milestones
- Translate complex clinical and regulatory developments into clear, compelling, and compliant narratives
- Ensure readiness for high-visibility announcements across markets
- Partner with R&D, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to align timing and messaging
6. Thought Leadership & Executive Positioning
- Position senior leadership as credible voices in access to medicine, affordability, innovation, and global health
- Drive high-impact platforms (interviews, op-eds, global forums)
- Identify strategic opportunities to shape public discourse
7. Integrated & Digital PR
- Integrate traditional media with digital, social, and real-time narrative tracking
- Monitor sentiment, media coverage, and emerging risks
- Enable rapid, insight-led response mechanisms
8. Team & Agency Leadership
- Lead a high-performing PR team across India and global markets
- Manage agency ecosystem across geographies with clear KPIs and accountability
- Build capability in crisis response, media handling, and narrative development
