Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Process Engineer 3 to support our Process Engineering team at our Promontory, Utah Plant.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
â˘Â   Able to demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations
â˘Â   Developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes
â˘Â   Supporting manufacturing operations, to include composites manufacturing, machining, rubber layup and molding, chemical bonding, primers and coatings, and complex assemblies
â˘Â   Being the first line of support (primary point of contact) for operations personnel and any process related problems.
â˘Â   Performing cause and corrective action investigations to permanently eliminate defects using root cause analysis tools
â˘Â   Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
â˘Â   Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning (work instructions)
â˘Â   Preparing and presenting technical presentations to internal leadership, and to the customers for review and approval
â˘Â   Performing reviews with operations team before and after parts are workedÂ
â˘Â   Monitoring production events and utilizing SPC tools to ensure process control
â˘Â   Developing and incorporating process improvements
â˘Â   Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.Â
â˘Â   Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
Skills & Qualifications
â˘Â   Self-Starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervisionÂ
â˘Â   Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
â˘Â   Good organization and multi-tasking skills
â˘Â   Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
â˘Â   Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
â˘Â   Interpreting blueprints and specifications, GD&T standardsÂ
â˘Â   Experience writing shop planning (preferred)
â˘Â   Experience with 3D modeling software
â˘Â   Experience working with composite materials (preferred)Â
â˘Â   Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills
â˘Â   CAD skills preferred
â˘Â   Statistical Process Controls (SPC)

This positionâs standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. degree in STEM- Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree with 5 yearsâ experience with Bachelor degree or Master degree with 3 years experience.
