Northrop Grumman Space sector is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer (Level 3) / Sr. Principal Supplier Quality Engineer (Level 4) to join our team of qualified individuals at our Oxnard, CA location.
The Supplier Quality Engineer assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
In this job, you will:
Support the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process.
Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.
Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs
Works with the team to establish root cause on identified issues and ensures corrective and preventive actions are documented, implemented, and verified effective.
Participate in Business Acquisition Process (proposal and business capture) performing supplier evaluation, qualification and selection, assisting with quality and global supply chain plans, scoping and costing supplier quality efforts for Basis of Estimates.
Basic Qualifications Level 3:
Bachelor's degree 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree and 3 years; PhD and 1 year pf experience, 9 years of relevant exp is also acceptable in lieu of degree
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills
Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Experience with non-conformance and corrective action process
Ability to travel 40% of the time
Basic Qualifications Level 4:
Bachelor's degree 8 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree and 6 years; PhD and 3 years of experience; 12 years of relevant exp is also acceptable in lieu of degree.
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills
Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Experience with non-conformance and corrective action process
Ability to travel 40% of the time.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience working with manufacturing and/or integration and test
Experience with Mission Assurance Engineering or Quality Engineering practices
Experience with Costpoint and TipQA
Experience conducting, leading, and supporting audits
Trained and experienced in performing Root Cause Corrective Action
Experience maintaining positive supplier relationships, including successful resolution of supplier quality challenges.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
