We are looking for an experienced Construction Planning & Coordination Lead to support installation planning and onsite production activities on a nuclear site. This role will focus on coordinating daily installation work, ensuring teams follow validated plans, and maintaining productivity across a complex nuclear construction environment.
You will work closely with Construction Management, Site Supervision (Black Hats), Quality, and Site Engineering teams, using Primavera P6 to support planning, scheduling, and progress tracking of installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
- Build the Shift S+1 Installation Plan through coordination with Construction Management, Site Supervision (Black Hats), Quality, and Site Engineering
- Use Primavera P6 to support construction planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring
- Ensure planning considers building restrictions, material availability, approved workpacks, and workforce resource availability
- Lead the Shift S+1 Validation Meeting and the daily Shift Kick-off Meeting
- Contribute to updates of the 16 Week Look Ahead (16WLA) planning schedule
- Prepare and maintain contingency “backup work” plans to mitigate unexpected blockers
On-site Production Monitoring
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor installation execution and identify blockers (access constraints, material availability, documentation issues, workforce limitations)
- Coordinate closely with Black Hats, Construction Managers, and site teams to resolve issues quickly and minimise productivity losses
- Ensure the workforce adheres to the validated Shift S+1 Plan and does not deviate without justified reasons
- Maintain contingency work plans to ensure continuity of site activities when planned work becomes blocked
- Interface with Site Engineering and the Design Back Office to support resolution of field engineering constraints
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor and analyse daily production output (planned vs actual)
- Track lost time, productivity trends, and recurring blockers
- Categorise issues as internal or external blockers and support resolution
- Work with the Contract Quantity Surveyor (QS) to document external stoppages and assess claimability
- Lead preparation of the Onsite Construction Monthly Progress Report, ensuring clear reporting of site progress and performance
