Cleveland Clinicās G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is a dynamic, dual-service unit comprised of an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown and a 24-bed Internal Medicine unit. The patient population spans a broad spectrum of acute and chronic conditions, including head and neck cancer, complex surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and multi-system organ failure. Caregivers are cross-trained to float between both services, providing a unique practice environment that blends high-acuity internal medicine with critical careālevel surgical management.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:Ā
Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.Ā
Assistwith processing patient admissions,transfersand discharges.
Assistpatients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble andmaintainpatient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Assistwith unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones,WOWsand other unit devices.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Ā
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of experience in a customer service-related roleĀ
Experience with typing, computertrainingor equivalent coursework
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
College degree
Microsoft Office experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
