The Senior Data Engineer is an integral member of Catalight's Data & Analytics team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that power business intelligence and AI/ML capabilities across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics, this fully remote, individual contributor role collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality data products that inform decision-making and drive organizational impact. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned data professional to contribute meaningfully to Catalight's mission of improving access to care for people with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Data Pipeline Management
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines to support business intelligence and AI/ML workloads.
- Build and manage ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from diverse sources into centralized data platforms.
- Ensure pipeline reliability, performance, and scalability through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization.
- Manage and maintain data infrastructure on AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Develop and enforce data quality standards, validation processes, and governance best practices.
- Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to support Snowflake data warehouse architecture and administration.
Business Intelligence & Stakeholder Reporting
- Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to understand reporting and analytics needs and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Enable and support BI tools (e.g, Tableau) by providing curated data models and optimized access layers.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across all reporting products.
- Document data models, pipeline workflows, and reporting assets to support organizational transparency and knowledge sharing.
AI/ML Data Support
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and data sources that support AI/ML applications and model development.
- Collaborate with data science and analytics stakeholders to ensure high-quality, well-structured data is available for model training and evaluation.
- Stay current on emerging AI/ML data engineering tools and best practices, proactively recommending improvements to existing workflows.
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to team-wide documentation, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment, maintaining clear and proactive communication across teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field preferred; or 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related discipline in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in SQL with strong experience in data modeling and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data platform.
- Experience enabling BI tools through the design and delivery of secure, reliable data pipelines, curated data models, and performant data access layers.
- Strong experience building and managing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Proficiency with AWS/Azure cloud services.
- Experience with Salesforce platform integrations or workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Conditions of Employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must attend any required training.

$130,000 - $170,000 Annually
