A Procurement Analyst is an impactful position, serving as a liaison between BJ’s internal stakeholders and our suppliers. You will oversee all aspects of the Procurement process – from requisition review and approval to PO generation, concluding with invoice approval. You will evaluate supplier performance and negotiate regularly with suppliers to procure favorable service levels on behalf of BJ’s.
The Club Support Procurement Analyst’s objective is to support BJ’s Club employees and our Merchant & Club Operations partners in understanding and integrating with the procurement processes. Building strong relationships as the liaison between assigned division(s) and the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team will be imperative to your ability to support effectively, ensuring that the expectations of their assigned division(s) have been met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Conducting research and analysis of suppliers and vendors to identify the most cost-effective and reliable sources of goods and services (Sourcing, Vendor selection, negotiation, PO creation)
- Develop and foster strong supplier relationships and implement procurement strategies to ensure that the organization obtains the best value for its money
- Negotiating with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and service levels for purchases.
- Analyzing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process.
- Actively partners with internal stakeholders & Suppliers to drive cost savings and cost avoidance.
- Creating and maintaining databases and other tools to track procurement activities and expenditures.
- Collaborate with your team and cross-functional departments to ensure objectives are being achieved, and timely and accurate delivery of goods and services
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conducting regular supplier performance evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that vendors meet contractual obligation
- Providing reports and regular updates to stakeholders regarding procurement activities and performance metrics.
- Support procurement training to all new employees and assist with creation of end user training materials and standard operating procedures.
- Be self-directed, making decisions on priorities and order of tasks. Adjust for frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Travel to local clubs periodically to check status of new initiatives, observe merchandise tests underway and track supplier performance related to shopping cart deliveries.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technology: Proficient in the use of new technology tools and software such as Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables)
- Quick Learner: An eager and versatile learner that can quickly grasps new concepts, processes, and databases, for example, procurement systems (Ariba / SAP)
- Customer Service: Provides excellent customer service to internal stakeholders and external vendors, and responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
- Collaboration: Thrives in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and can quickly build positive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and suppliers
- Can work independently: Go-getter who produces thorough, quality work without constant influence or direct oversight
- Detail Oriented: Focused on all details large or small, and are able to spot errors or inconsistencies in data, contracts, or other documents
- Resourceful: Proactively find and utilize available resources to solve problems and achieve objectives, but are not afraid to ask for help if you get stuck
- Communication: Whether written or verbal, you communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to negotiate favorable terms and service levels and provide timely resolution to issues.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $58,000.00 - $74,000.00We recognize the growing role of AI tools, including ChatGPT, and value familiarity with them.
