What you will have an opportunity to do:
Restaurant Server | Marriott Colorado Springs
Think about the best dining experience you have ever had. Chances are, it was not just about the food. It was about how you felt the moment you walked in. It was the server who knew the menu inside and out and made you feel like every recommendation was made just for you. It was the way your water was refilled before you noticed it was low, the way a concern was handled before it became a complaint, and the way you left feeling like you were genuinely taken care of from start to finish. That experience does not happen by accident. It happens because of the person behind it.
We are looking for a highly motivated, guest-focused Restaurant Server to join our team at the Marriott Colorado Springs. If you are someone who brings natural warmth to every interaction, takes pride in knowing your craft, and genuinely loves the art of hospitality, we want to meet you.
As a Restaurant Server, you are the face of our restaurant and the single most important variable in our guests' dining experience. From the moment guests are seated to the moment they sign their check, everything that happens at that table flows through you. That is not a small responsibility, and we are looking for someone who does not take it lightly.
You will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced hotel restaurant environment where the guests change every day and the standard stays the same, which is exceptional. You will need to know the menu deeply enough to guide guests through it with genuine enthusiasm, handle special requests without missing a beat, collaborate seamlessly with the kitchen and bar teams, and resolve concerns in a way that leaves guests walking out happier than they expected.
This is also a tremendous opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry at a world-class property. The skills you build here, menu knowledge, wine and beverage fluency, high-volume service, guest recovery, and polished tableside communication, are the foundation of a long and rewarding career in food and beverage. If you are driven and you bring your best every shift, there is real room to grow here.
Preparing the restaurant thoroughly before each shift, ensuring tables are clean, properly set, and guest-ready before the first cover arrives
Greeting every guest warmly and promptly as they arrive or move through the restaurant, setting a welcoming tone from the first interaction
Guiding guests through their culinary journey with descriptive, enthusiastic menu selling that helps them make choices they will genuinely enjoy
Developing and maintaining deep knowledge of every item on the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and pairing recommendations, so every conversation adds value to the guest experience
Taking orders accurately, confirming all special requests and dietary needs without exception, and communicating those needs clearly to the kitchen
Delivering food and beverages in a timely and professional manner, checking in with guests to ensure everything meets their expectations
Performing quality checks throughout the meal and anticipating needs before guests have to ask
Working collaboratively and communicating clearly with kitchen staff, bar staff, and fellow servers to ensure seamless service across the operation
Addressing guest concerns with patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to resolution; turning a difficult moment into a reason for the guest to come back
Maintaining knowledge of the full beverage program including wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits, and making confident, informed recommendations based on guest preferences
Presenting bills accurately and in a timely manner, completing the experience on a high note that leaves guests feeling valued
Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized work area throughout the shift and assisting with post-shift closing duties
Staying aware of all safety and sanitation standards and adhering to them without exception
Providing general property information to guests and serving as a knowledgeable resource about hotel amenities and the local Colorado Springs area
An engaging, warm, and welcoming personality that makes guests feel at home the moment you approach the table
A natural ability to sell descriptively; you do not just recite the menu, you make people excited about what they are about to experience
A genuine passion for creating exceptional dining experiences for every guest, every shift, without exception
Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits and the confidence to speak about them fluently with guests
The ability to stay composed, focused, and genuinely hospitable under pressure during high-volume service periods
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect authentically with guests from all walks of life
A collaborative, team-first attitude; you understand that great restaurant service is a group effort
Strong attention to detail in order accuracy, table maintenance, and guest communication
A proactive mindset; you anticipate what the table needs before being asked
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays; restaurant service does not follow a traditional schedule
This is a seasonal role over the summer
What are we looking for?
2 to 4 years of food service experience required; hotel restaurant or upscale dining experience is a strong plus
Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits; ability to make confident and informed beverage recommendations
Strong descriptive selling skills and the ability to guide guests through a menu with enthusiasm and accuracy
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the state of Colorado
Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on your feet for the full duration of a shift
Ability to carry trays and transport food and beverage items safely throughout service
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tables simultaneously without losing focus or composure
Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business
Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the Marriott brand standards
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
