Position Summary:
The Field Solutions Engineer (FSE) is a trusted technical expert who plays a pivotal role in the sales process, driving the growth and adoption of Miovision’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions. These solutions include advanced traffic signal control, AI-powered video detection, connected vehicle applications, and cloud-based emergency vehicle preemption and priority systems. By bridging the gap between technical capabilities and customer needs, the FSE helps ensure agencies realize the full value of Miovision’s innovative transportation technologies.
As a technical industry expert, the FSE integrates into the daily operation of the agency to support complex proof of concepts and ongoing initiatives to maximize product output and value. The FSE helps ensure Miovision always gets the green light by driving continuous value and product adoption that ultimately drives intersection network and software growth.
You will support the Mid-Atlantic territory including Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
Technical Consultancy: Audit the customer’s current ecosystem to identify and document gaps as well as an action plan/recommendations to move them from their current state to the desired outcome. Document product/feature needs for product design prioritization.
Solution Scoping and Design: Support solution design, technical documentation and the implementation plan of current and potential future integrations, collaborating across departments and project teams to successful implementation.
Pilots and Product Demonstrations: Design and manage all product demos, pilot installations, and proof-of-value initiatives.
Product Approval and Specifications: Partner with the APL team to secure product approvals in your territory and work with customers and prospects to update their ITS specifications to incorporate Miovision's Master Specification.
Complex Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot any complex product issue that could result in preventing a purchase, delayed renewals or potential for churn. Support ongoing operational issues as well as product deficiencies that may come up.
Proof of Value Documentation: Deliver on and document proof of value as per the account plan.
Ideal Profile:
Traffic and Infrastructure Fluency: Deep expertise in hardware and software traffic solutions, with the hands-on confidence to work directly within a city’s physical traffic infrastructure.
Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to make complex technical concepts digestible for both executive decision-makers and field engineers.
Pilot and Value Management: Proven track record of managing technical pilots and demonstrations that translate product features into measurable ROI and "proof of value."
Strategic Consulting: Skilled in business case development, process mapping, and gap analysis to move agencies from their current state to a modernized solution.
Full-Cycle Systems Implementation: Experienced in the complete project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, conceptual design, testing, training, change management, and ongoing support.
Solution Architecting: A strong understanding of networking products and the ability to solve complex technical issues that might otherwise stop the sale.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives without losing momentum..
Cross-Functional Insight: Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes to help advocate for customer needs internally.
Industry Credibility: Active membership in industry groups (IMSA, ITSA, ITE) and relevant certifications are highly preferred.
Travel & Location
Territory Focused: You must be based within the assigned region (MD, VA, NC, SC, GA, TN, KY, or WV).
Field-Ready: Ability to travel up to 50% (approx. 2 weeks per month) to provide on-site consulting. This includes international travel, with the ability to move freely between the U.S. and Canada.
