About the Role
Laurel’s Business Technology team is dedicated to providing reliable, secure, and easy-to-use technology for our employees. This role is crucial for managing our internal IT environment, supporting end-users, and ensuring the company adheres to strict information security and compliance standards required by our clients. You will manage the internal IT team and help it grow over time.
Oversee day-to-day management, reliability, and performance of corporate IT systems and endpoints
Manage and scale cloud-first IT infrastructure (identity, device management, collaboration tools)
Own lifecycle management of employee hardware, software, and access
Support and manage internal AI tooling and infrastructure used across the company
Partner with Engineering and Security to ensure responsible, secure, and scalable use of AI systems
Evaluate and implement AI-driven tools to improve internal productivity and automation
Own SaaS application ecosystem (e.g., Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
Design and automate onboarding/offboarding workflows, including provisioning and deprovisioning access
Ensure proper access controls, least-privilege principles, and audit readiness across systems
Maintain integrations between identity providers (Entra ID/Okta) and downstream applications
Manage and maintain office IT infrastructure, including networking, Wi-Fi, conferencing systems, and physical IT environments
Partner with workplace and facilities teams to support office expansions and improvements
Ensure secure and reliable connectivity for both in-office and hybrid employees
Drive and support security and compliance initiatives (e.g., DPO, TIA, SOC 2 readiness)
Implement and maintain core security controls across endpoints, identity systems, and SaaS tools
Partner with external legal, audit, and security teams as needed
Negotiate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers
Oversee procurement, licensing, and cost optimization for IT tools and services
Build and maintain clear documentation and scalable IT support processes
Establish and improve SLAs for internal support and service delivery
Participate in on-call rotation for critical systems
Raise the bar for IT quality, security, and user experience
Champion best practices and continuous improvement across corporate IT
The following are our non-negotiables for candidates.
5+ years of experience managing corporate IT infrastructure in a modern, cloud-first environment
Strong experience with AI tooling, AI Coding, and Systems management with AI
Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), MacOS, and endpoint management systems
Proven experience managing SaaS ecosystems and identity lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding)
Experience supporting security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO, or similar)
Hands-on experience with office networking and IT infrastructure
Experience working in high-growth or startup environments

Experience supporting or managing internal AI tools or infrastructure
Familiarity with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
Experience with data warehouses and SQL
Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD or developer tooling environments
Location: This role will be a hybrid location and to be based near one of our company hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York City and be in the office 1-3 days a week.
