The Accountant II β Payroll ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees across multiple pay groups and pay frequencies. This role provides daily oversight and quality control of payroll transactions while partnering with plants, stores, HR Business Partners, and a third-party payroll provider to research and resolve payroll issues. The position manages off-cycle and high-visibility payments, supports payroll process optimization, and delivers Mass Load Tool (MLT) training to payroll technicians. Additionally, the role assists Payroll leadership with complex payroll inquiries and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do
Daily oversight, direction and quality control regarding payroll transaction inputs.
Process off-cycle payments - Reviewing the reasons why this occurs and to see if it can be prevented in the future.
Identify/Initiate process improvements.
Research/Resolve complex pay inquiries and management requests for payroll response.
Root cause analysis - Finding the solution and implementing a fix so the problem does not reoccur.
Research/Resolve problematic payroll issues.
Run/Review any reports needed for service-level agreements (SLAs) - Work with management to align with provider.
Provide payroll processing training and perform business process optimization.

What Weβre Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
0 or more years of experience in Accounting, Business or Finance.
Knowledge of applications and systems: Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint) andWorkday (Report Writer).
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Interpersonal skills that establish/maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly.
Ability to support accounting/finance decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position.
Ability to communicate or present information (verbal/written) effectively with all levels of the organization.
Payroll experience with a large company - Desired.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is desired.
Master degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field- Desired.
