The Finance Controller ensures accurate financial reporting for the Thailand legal entity in compliance with Goodyear policies, US and local GAAP, while maintaining strong internal controls. The role supports business partnering with management by providing financial insights for strategic decisions and expansion initiatives, and ensures consistent accounting and control practices. It also oversees quarterly financial statement preparation for external audit and approval by the Board and shareholders.
What You'll Do
You will coordinate with Controlling, functional teams, and GBS Manila to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial close, analysis, and legal entity reporting.
You will oversee statutory books and US GAAP reporting, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and accounting standards.
You will maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring SOX compliance, effective control execution, and timely remediation of audit and control gaps.
You will provide financial and technical accounting leadership across the organization, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements and supporting adoption of new accounting standards.
You will partner with the Leadership Team and FP&A to drive business performance through financial insights, analysis, and support for strategic and expansion initiatives.
You will lead finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, driving standardization, efficiency, and optimization of finance processes and systems.
You will oversee plant and production cost accounting, including standard costing, investment analysis, restructuring studies, and support for budgeting, reporting, and operational performance improvement.
You will manage SOX certification, quarterly representation letters, and ensure completion of required assurance procedures for leadership reporting.
You will lead discussions with Thailand leadership on finance, compliance, control, and accounting matters.
You will develop and lead a high-performing controllership team, ensuring strong talent development, succession planning, and a strong culture of accountability and compliance.
What We're Looking For
You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
You hold a certified accounting qualification (e.g., CPA).
You have 10โ15 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably within multinational organizations, including 3โ5 years in a management role (depending on plant or legal entity size and complexity).
You have 3โ5 years of experience in plant-level accounting and standard costing systems.
You have experience in public accounting and/or external auditing.
