About Our Summer Internship Program
At Gap Inc., our 10-week Summer Internship Program is built around how our business operatesâfast-moving, customer-focused, and grounded in the work that brings our brands to life. As an intern, youâll step into the pace and complexity of a global retail organization, contributing to initiatives that shape our product, our experience, and how we show up for millions of customers.
Youâll be embedded on a team from day one, taking on meaningful work and building ownership as the summer progresses. Along the way, youâll strengthen how you approach your workâusing data to inform decisions, solving business problems, and communicating ideas with clarityâwhile building fluency in tools like AI that help teams work more effectively.
As the summer progresses, youâll be expected to move beyond executionâidentifying a meaningful opportunity or challenge within your team, shaping your own point of view, and developing a clear, well-supported recommendation to present at the end of the program.
By the end of the summer, youâll have a deeper understanding of how the business runs, stronger judgment in how you approach your work, and a foundation of experience you can build on as you grow your career.
As a Site Merchandising Intern, youâŻwill be part of a dynamic and high-performing team that prides itself on blending the art and science of site merchandising. Site Merchandising is responsible for the overall site experience, ensuring it aligns with the product-to-site strategy, promotional messaging, pricing, homepage, and emails. Through a customer-curious lens, you will collaborate with your Site Merchandising business function, Merchandising, Marketing, Ecom Operations, Promotions, Sample, and Photo Studio teams to produce a best-in-class online shopping experience. Through the experience, youâll build foundational skills to navigate our product-to-site pipeline, product management tools, and manage a substantial volume of executional tasks within a fast-paced environment. Throughout the internship, youâll gain exposure to how digital merchandising strategies support the online customer experience and business performance.
Hourly Rate: $35.00 per hour USD

What You'll Do
- Assist the Site Merchandising teamincreating a compelling product experience with intuitive category navigationâŻ
- AssisttheSite Merchant with weekly site review meetings to discuss upcoming marketing, site expectations from homepage to emails, and discuss current site/category needsâŻâŻ
- Participate in website QA and setupincluding:product and category linking, customer-facing marketing flags, promotional code setup, and ensuring the correct promo messaging is reflected in content, always keeping the customerpoint of viewtop of mindâŻ
- Activelyparticipatein aligning site navigation, product photography, marketing, and copy strategies
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, Ecom Operationspartnersand fellow Site Merch Coordinators to update and troubleshoot products tied to promotional eventsâŻ
- Troubleshoot problems and influence resolution across functionsâŻâŻ
- Ensure accuracy and high-quality work across the site, with an understanding of its impact on the customer experienceâŻ
- Assistwith quarterly photography shot requestsâŻâŻ
- Supportcompetitive market analysis based on key product initiativesâŻ
- Supportthesite merch team on product setup withthird-party tools and test initiatives: search, product recommendations, outfitting modules,etc.
Who You Are
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn technical applications, terminology, and processes quickly
- Passion for retail and the online shopping experience,astrong trend point of view andis anavid online shopperâŻ
- Customer obsessionâunderstandsthecustomerâjourneyâandismotivated to improve itâŻ
- Experience with or prior exposure to content/product management systems and comfortable learning new site toolsâŻâŻ
- Ability to execute detail-oriented work witha high levelof accuracy and attention to detail; recognizesand actson inconsistencies in data and site experienceâŻ
- Ability to share information to an audience with effective oral and written communicationutilizingvarious forms of media (PowerPoint, Pinterest, mood/inspiration boards)
