The Pre-Analytics Processing Technicianis responsible formanually processing laboratory specimens, performing daily quality assuranceactivities,andmaintainingequipment. A caregiver in thispositionworksfull-time|nights + on-call| 11:00pm—7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive andaccessionspecimens into the LIS (Lab Information System).
Prepare specimens for analysis.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solvingfunctions,and issue resolution.
Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
Perform QA activities (pendinglog audit).
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
Perform basic clerical functions (i.e.,answeringphones).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GEDandone year of lab experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's degree, preferably in a science related field(this may substitute theoneyear of experience needed above)
Strong organizational and time management skills
