J71, J72, and J73 are cardiovascular step-down telemetrymonitoredunits.The three units make up a total of 73 beds: J71-25 beds; J72-24 beds; and J73-24 beds.These fast-paced nursing units provide nursing care to a select medical cardiac patient population, whichincludesMyocardial infarction,Post cardiac intervention, Chronic heart failure, Dysrhythmia management,and Pulmonary hypertension.
J7-1 Cardiac Stepdownis a 25-bed unit. (J7-3 - 24 beds. They can float after orientation.) For nights, there would be 6 RNs and 2 PCNAs. Nurses willassistas well. Patients can be criticalalthough they can get a variety of acuities. Example: Bedridden /walking / overnight, etc. May not be asevidentasthey are ill -heart related. Patients can be from anywhere is US

A caregiver who excels in this role will:Ā
Provide orassistwith patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight,assistingpatients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoringdevicesand removing urinary Foley catheter.Ā
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,mentaland emotional conditions to an RN.Ā
Assistwith keeping patientsā rooms clean and orderly.Ā
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Ā
HighSchoolDiploma or GEDĀ
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross (If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period)
Nursing students:Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be consideredĀ
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
