Candid Health is hiring an Associate General Counsel as its second legal hire. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a high-ownership role with broad scope across commercial contracting, product counseling, and regulatory compliance. It is an opportunity for a hands-on attorney to help define how legal operates inside a fast-growing health tech company.
In this role, you’ll lead day-to-day commercial negotiations, including customer, vendor, and third-party agreements, and act as a close legal partner to the Sales team to structure and close deals efficiently. You’ll serve as the point person for healthcare and privacy compliance questions, advise on strategic transactions, manage outside counsel across areas such as AI, IP, and employment, and help operationalize legal guidance across the organization.
You’ll also work closely with the General Counsel to design scalable legal processes and gain exposure across the full legal landscape, including product counseling, data and AI use, corporate matters, fundraising, and potential M&A as the company grows.
The ideal candidate is a U.S.-qualified attorney with 2+ years of experience in a top law firm and/or in-house environment. You are commercially minded, collaborative, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a small legal team. Experience in healthcare, privacy, or other regulated industries is a plus, as is comfort working closely with engineers and technical teams. Above all, this role is for someone excited to take early ownership and help build legal foundations that support long-term scale.
