The Quality Control (QC) Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing QC staff for technical and professional growth; ensuring efficient, compliant, and well-documented QC operations and managing budgets, headcount planning, and resource allocation to ensure QC meets business needs.
This position reports to the Senior Quality Control Manager is part of the Quality Control team located just outside Tulla in O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare and will be an onsite role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead daily QC operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely testing to support production and regulatory expectations.
Ensure QC methods, equipment, and processes are properly calibrated, validated, and maintained.
Manage internal and external compliance requirements, including supporting audits and ensuring documentation accuracy.
Develop, coach, and mentor QC associates, fostering a culture of performance, growth, and continuous improvement.
Drive effective management of Out of Specification (OOS) processes and escalate quality issues promptly.
Provide meaningful QC metrics and reporting to support decisionâmaking and customer satisfaction.
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives leveraging DBS (Danaher Business System) tools.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelorâs degree with 9+ years or Masters degree with 7+ years of experience within a regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience managing QC methods/equipment, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience leading teams, including performance management and development.
Experience managing OOS investigations, CAPAs, and documentation systems.
Strong understanding of operational excellence or continuous improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, DBS).
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Change management in diagnostics, medical devices, or biologics manufacturing.
Laboratory information systems, quality systems, and data reporting tools.
