We are looking for anEngineering Managerto lead a team building the next generation of agentic workflows for financial professionals. This role sits at the intersection of AI, product discovery, and scalable platform engineering, and will play a critical role in moving Grata into a new frontier of business development tools.

Grata is a hybrid company, with in-office collaboration in NYC on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

WhatYou’llDo

As an Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for bothdelivery andpeopleleadership, while partnering closely with Product, Data, AI, and Design.

You will:

• Own the outcomes of your team's efforts by ensuringsuccessfulproduct deliveries, including incremental value creation,maintainingsystem performance, and sharing in commercial wins.

• Coach engineers on growth plans and promotions using established engineering pathways.

• Establish and evolve healthy team practices, including planning, execution, quality, and operational excellence.

• Represent Engineering in cross‑functional ceremonies and planning with Product, Data, AI, and Design partners.

• Balance near‑term delivery with long‑term technical health,identifyingand managing technical debt.

• Translate product and technical vision into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.

• Foster a culture of high ownership, psychological safety, and sustainable pace.

This role is primarily focused on management and leadership, with hands‑on technical engagement as needed to guide architecture, unblock teams, and support high‑impact initiatives.

• Building the next level of Grata’sM&A business development platform, powered byagentic workflows.

• Designing and scaling AI‑driven systems that help customers discover opportunities, automate workflows, and act faster.

• Partnering closely with Product Managers toidentifycustomer pain points and uncover efficiency gains through agents.

• Developing platform capabilities that position Grata at the forefront of AI‑enabled dealmaking tools.

Technical Requirements (Must Have)

• Experience leading engineering teams that buildagentic or autonomous workflows.

• Strong comfort withPython and Reactin a full‑stack environment.

• Experience designing and operatingqueue‑based, event‑driven, or asynchronous systems.

• ProficientonAI driven coding and scalable, modular applications with a strong grasp of architectural patterns, reliability, and engineering trade‑offs.

Technical Experience (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity withETL and data processing systems, such as:  *Databricks or Spark‑based pipelines

*Kafka, Pulsar, or similar event streaming platforms

*Airflow,dbt, or workflow orchestration tools

• Experience working with AI/ML‑adjacent systems or data‑heavy platforms.

• Exposure to cloud‑native architectures and scalable backend services.
