TheProcessEngineer Iis responsible forsupporting the development, execution, and documentation of processes and experimental workflows foranoligonucleotide synthesis platformand supporting process equipment.
This positionreports to the Senior Manager of Emerging Technologiesandis part ofEmergingTechnologies, Platform Development grouplocatedinSunnyvale, CAand willbeafull-time,on-siterole.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Execute defined experimental workflows involving operation of customized microfluidic instrumentation and automated liquid handlingaccording to established procedures.
Performmetrology on custom components and inspection andcharacterizationof novelmaterials andsubstrates.
Collectand organize experimental and metrology data,perform basic data analysis andvisualizationand prepare clear summaries and reports to support technicaldecisionâmaking.
Maintainaccurateexperimental records, organize samples and labware, and support the creation and upkeep of SOPs, workinstructionsand experimental documentation.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related technical field withat least1+ years of relevant industry or laboratory experience.Â
Handsâonexperience following technical procedures in a laboratory environment, includingoperatinginstrumentation, handling hazardousmaterialsand adhering to defined protocols and safety practices.Â
Experience with data collection, basic analysis, and documentation using common tools (e.g., spreadsheets, notebooks, datamanagement systems) with strong attention to detail and data integrity.
Travel& Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel 5% time or less domestically.Â
Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 20 lbs.Â
Ability tofrequentlywork in a laboratory environment for extended periods, including interaction with automated instrumentation and biologicaland chemicalreagents.
It would be a plus if you alsopossesspreviousexperience in:
Experiencein operating,troubleshootingandmaintainingautomated lab equipmentandmicrofluidics devices in anR&D orOperationssetting.Â
Proficiencywith precision measurement or inspection techniquessuch asfluorescence oroptical microscopy, profilometry,and the use ofcalipersandmicrometers.
Experienceand comfortworking in anR&D environmentwhere processes, hardware, or instrumentation are stillevolvingand procedures may changefrequently.
