Locum Clinical or Counselling Psychologist â Palliative Care (Oncology)
This locum opportunity places you at the heart of specialist oncology and palliative care service in the West Midlands. You will join a compassionate multidisciplinary team, offering psychological expertise that truly shapes patient experience - the post is available ASAP until the end of September.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist psychological assessments for individuals referred to the service, tailoring your approach to their unique needs.
- Provide evidenceâbased interventions including ACT, CFT and CBT to support patients, carers and families as they navigate diagnosis, treatment and endâofâlife challenges.
- Work collaboratively with MDT colleagues
- Offer consultation and reflective support to staff managing complex emotional presentations.
- Maintain highâquality clinical records in line with professional standards.

Qualifications & Experience
- HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
- Desirable: Experience within palliative care, oncology, health psychology, adult mental health or other emotionally complex clinical settings is highly valued
- Confidence working autonomously and collaboratively within MDT environments
- Newly qualified psychologists or those without direct oncology experience are still encouraged to apply â transferable skills are welcomed
