As aCT/MRIScan Technologist Assistant, you areinvolved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations,includingdepartment stocking, oral contrastpreparation,exam data entryand more. In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy,exhibitingpositive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. A caregiver in this position worksdays|full-time|7:00am—4:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assure rooms areset up properly before beginning of procedure.
Clean roomspromptly post-procedure.
Assure patient modesty and comfort,assistpatients with changing, answer call lights asappropriateand report any change in patient's condition or behavior.
Assurepatient isdischarged toappropriatedestination.
Check proper identification ofpatientper policy and create patient identification bands.
Schedule scans and watchqueue.
Verify physician exam order, look atneedsofpatientand initiate communication and inpatient flow.
Document patient history, conditionsand any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes,additionalexams, and order revision.
Acquire, archive,transmitand print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hourstransmission of images andappropriate paperworkimmediatelyreporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
Operate all equipment properly and with care.
Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers,demonstratingcooperativeefforts withcoworkersand the ability to accept constructive criticism.
Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
Determinethe bestmethodologyto deliver education and receive verbal feedback or returndemonstrationtovalidatelearning.
Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge whenappropriate.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
HighschoolDiplomaorGED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
One yearofexperiencein a healthcare related fieldOR current radiology student
Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
