Unified Identity Securing Classic and AI Infrastructure
Teleport, the AI Infrastructure Identity Company, prepares organizations for an AI future by establishing a unified identity layer for infrastructure, with humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents secured cryptographically with a hardware root of trust rather than vulnerable credentials. By replacing fragmented identity and access management systems with Infrastructure Identity, Teleport scales zero trust across cloud and on-prem environments, eliminating the complexity and risk created by identity fragmentation and credential sprawl. Teleport protects infrastructure from identity attacks, accelerates engineering by reducing infrastructure complexity, and secures non-deterministic agentic workflows. Headquartered in Oakland, CA, Teleport operates globally, with industry-leading customers such as Nasdaq, IBM, Doordash, and Elastic.
Our Vision
Today's computing environments have too much complexity, too many network boundaries, and too little trust. Complexity slows engineers down and leads to human errors. Complex systems canât be secure despite the red tape of bureaucracy. We make trusted computing simple. This gives engineers the freedom to move and build a better future.
Why Teleport
Teleport addresses the overlooked intersection between cybersecurity and infrastructureâan area companies have historically tried to manage through a fragmented mix of tools like PAM, network-centric controls, and fragmented secrets management. This approach was already inefficient, but it fundamentally breaks down in the era of AI.
AI changes the landscape in three critical ways. First, non-human, machine, and AI identities now outnumber human ones, driving massive secrets sprawl while worsening anonymity. Second, anonymity is incompatible with AI workloads: these systems are inherently non-deterministic, operate across many services and environments, and therefore require strong identity, continuous trust, and end-to-end visibility to function safely and correctly. Third, the non-deterministic nature of AI makes reliability and scalability non-negotiableâsystems must be resilient, observable, and with access control guardrails, because failures and unexpected behavior cannot be handled with static controls or manual intervention.
Solving this problem requires a fundamentally different approach: a unified identity layer that spans machines, workloads, humans, and agents. Identity becomes the security control plane that replaces network location and long-lived secrets as the basis of trust. Ephemeral privileges are critical in this modelâprivileges must be granted just-in-time, limited to the task at hand, and automatically expire, dramatically reducing blast radius in systems where behavior cannot be fully predicted. Finally, real-time intelligence is essential: in fast-moving, AI-driven environments, access decisions must continuously adapt to context, behavior, and system state, rather than relying on static policies defined in advance.
Teleport addresses the growing gap between todayâs cyber and infrastructure security posture and what modern, AI-driven systems actually require. As AI systems proliferate, attack surfaces and pathways multiply, giving adversaries unprecedented leverage. The result is an inflection point: without re-anchoring security and infrastructure around identity, real-time trust, and ephemeral privileges, the volume and impact of security breaches will only accelerate.
Teleport is the AI Infrastructure Identity Company, providing a unified identity layer for infrastructure (humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents) secured cryptographically. As we expand our product portfolio, we need a Web Design Engineer to own the design and frontend development of Teleport's product marketing microsites. Your first project will be beams.run, the marketing microsite for our new trusted agent runtime product, but the role will extend to future product sites as Teleport grows.
This is a high-impact, individual contributor role for someone who works fluidly across design and engineering, with deep empathy for developer audiences. You will take input from multiple stakeholders across Marketing and Product, synthesizing their priorities into developer-facing web experiences that are both technically credible and visually compelling. You will own the design direction, frontend codebase, and ongoing iteration of each site you touch.
This role is ideal for someone who has built developer-facing web properties and understands how infrastructure and platform engineers evaluate tools: documentation, CLI examples, and technical substance rather than marketing polish. Experience working on products in the security, identity, or DevOps space is a strong plus.
These are strict requirements. Candidates must meet all of the following:
Design and code as one practice. 10+ years of professional experience where you personally designed and built production frontend for web properties. We are not looking for a designer who hands off to developers, or a developer who implements someone else's designs. You must do both, and your portfolio must demonstrate both.
You produce high-fidelity design work in Figma (or equivalent) that is ready for stakeholder review and does not require a separate designer to refine.
You write production-quality code in React (Next.js preferred), TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind or similar). Your code is clean enough that other engineers can review, maintain, and contribute to it.
Your portfolio includes work on developer-facing or technical product websites. Examples: developer platforms, API documentation sites, CLI tool sites, open-source project sites, or infrastructure product marketing pages. Consumer or e-commerce web experience alone does not qualify.
You have demonstrated experience taking input from both Marketing and Product stakeholders, navigating competing priorities, and translating that input into design and development decisions. You will not have a single manager handing you specs; you will need to synthesize direction from multiple teams.
You produce clear design rationale, technical documentation, and project updates in written form. At Teleport, we write things down. This is not optional.
You identify what a site needs, propose solutions, and execute without waiting for detailed specifications. You are comfortable being the only person responsible for a site's design and code.
You actively use AI tools to accelerate your design and development work. This means more than casual use of chatbots. You have hands-on experience integrating AI into your production workflow, for example using Figma MCP with Claude Code to go from design to code, using AI coding assistants to scaffold and iterate on frontend components, or using AI to generate and refine visual assets. At Teleport, we are laser focused on using AI to ship faster, and we expect this role to operate the same way.
