Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $109,800.00 - $164,800.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $48,879.96.Job Description
At Cox Business, weâre looking for a dynamic Sales Manager that leads an assigned outside sales team to achieve Cox Business sales goals. This role is responsible for hiring, training, and coaching outside sales representatives to drive customer acquisition and retention in the assigned market. The manager ensures adherence to corporate sales strategies and achievement of revenue and retention targets.Â
This position combines office-based work with customer visits. It operates within a fast-paced, budget-driven sales organization and requires strong leadership, people management, and strategic planning skills. Occasional travel to customer locations using a personal or company vehicle is expected.Â
Location: 5 days per week in the Springdale, AR office
Primary Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsÂ
Key responsibilities include leadership, planning, communication, administration, and self-development:Â
Sales Leadership & Team DevelopmentÂ
Build and maintain a professional sales culture; serve as a role model for the team.Â
Hire, train, develop, and coach a high performing outside sales team capable of meeting revenue and retention goals.Â
Coach and manage team performance to ensure disciplined sales practices and exceptional customer experience.Â
Strategic Planning & ExecutionÂ
Set sales goals and metrics aligned with corporate and regional objectives.Â
Develop territory structures and account assignments to maximize market share and revenue.Â
Collaborate with Marketing to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.Â
Operational ExcellenceÂ
Monitor forecasts, budgets, and expenses to achieve profitability and margin goals.Â
Review and approve sales presentations, ROI analyses, and commission reports.Â
Ensure timely updates of customer information and compliance with reporting standards.Â
Customer & Community EngagementÂ
Act as a subject matter expert for escalated customer issues.Â
Represent Cox Business in the local community through networking and participation in events (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, nonprofit initiatives).Â
Minimum QualificationsÂ
Bachelorâs degree in a related field and 6+ years of relevant experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 yearsâ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; Masterâs Degree + 4 yearsâ experience or In lieu of a degree, 10 yearsâ experience in a related field will be considered. Â
1+ year of experience in management or lead role
Proven experience in businessâtoâbusiness consultative sales, with the ability to understand customer needs, recommend strategic solutions, and drive longâterm partnerships.
Experience engaging with Câlevel and executive stakeholders, including delivering professional presentations, influencing decisionâmakers, and confidently navigating complex or challenging business conversations.
Proven leadership capability, with experience building, coaching, and motivating highâperforming sales teams to achieve results.
Strong business and sales acumen, with the ability to provide trusted guidance and direction to both customers and team members in a consultative sales environment.
Demonstrated relationshipâbuilding skills, including developing and sustaining effective partnerships with clients, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
Adaptable, accountable leader who takes ownership, navigates change effectively, and performs well in a fastâpaced, resultsâdriven environment.
Comfortable working in a technologyâenabled sales environment, including daily use of Windowsâbased systems and Microsoft Office tools to manage performance, reporting, and communication.
Valid driverâs license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
3+ years of demonstrated success leading B2B sales teams, with a track record of driving performance through coaching, accountability, and consultative selling practices.
Handsâon leadership mindset with proven grit, willing to roll up sleeves and support sales efforts across a diverse customer base from small and midâsized businesses to large, complex enterprise accounts.
Experience in the telecommunications industryÂ
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired
Familiarity and knowledge of the Northwest Arkansas marketÂ
Experience preparing, compiling, and submitting bid responses for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPsÂ
