Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Integrated Packaging Specialist guides and enables the technical and commercial definition of automation and integration projects for BW Packaging. Specialist level professional has depth/breadth of expertise in own function and exhibits talents to create robust and efficient solutions to customer packaging needs. A thorough understanding of the packaging industry, production line design, and controls philosophies is essential. The position connects opportunity with delivery by ensuring every IPS solution is clearly scoped, technically feasible, commercially sound, and ready for handoff.
This team member will be responsible for all aspects of the concepting and estimating of new equipment and solutions. Working across Business Development, Controls, Operations, and Supply Chain, the Specialist strengthens how BW Packaging turns customer intent into executable, value-driven projects to ensure the growth, competitiveness, and profitability of BW Packaging solutions while mitigating the risk of each application.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Applications Resource
Guide the translation of customer requirements into clear, technically sound automation and integration concepts.
Provide technical expertise to Sales team and customers regarding product lines, support in presenting and explaining our solutions to customers.
Participate in project-related meetings including customer design reviews, Operations hand-off, team and site communications, acceptance tests and post project reviews.
Works with different internal departments and external suppliers to ensure client requirements are met.
Estimating and Commercial Alignment
Lead the estimating process with precision, transparency, and commercial discipline.
Create a floor plan drawing of proposed solutions in AutoCAD, working with the customer-supplied layout and facility drawings as needed to determine an optimal solution.
Estimate costing (materials and labor) of our proposed solution using costing tools.
Consult engineering teams on new concepts and associated costing.
Develop complete proposal package as deliverable to our customer.
Keep MS Dynamics 365 system up to date with quoting activity.
Review technical and commercial aspects of our solution with BWIS Leadership team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
7–10 years of experience in applications engineering, estimating, or technical project development within packaging, automation, or capital-equipment industries.
Strong technical understanding of system integration, controls, and configurable solutions.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
Proficient in MS Office applications and AutoCAD.
Desirable
Experience with MS Dynamics 365.
Experience in SolidWorks (or other 3D software) and simulation capabilities.
