OVERVIEW OF JOB:
TheData Analystwithin the Crisis Intervention Programsat the City of Auroraaidsin data collection, analysis, staffing,and deployment of personnel. This roleoperatesin an environment of high demand, performing analysis duties and developing analysis products in support of the City of Aurora Crisis Intervention Programs, the Aurora Mobile Response Team, Aurora Police Department’s Crisis ResponseTeamand the Targeted Violence Prevention Program. This position will focus on compiling calls for service thatcontaina behavioral health or targeted violence nexus andidentifyingtrends, hotspots, program high utilizers, and other relevant programmatic needs within the City of Aurora.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Use a variety of computer applications, electronic spreadsheets, mapping software, word processing, and statistical applications to conduct tacticalprogramanalysis.
Identifyand collect data factors using a variety of police reports to track behavioral health/ targeted violence,identifypatterns, forecast trends, and report actionable findings that inform resource deployment
Querypublic safety databases (RMS, NCIC/CCIC, Accurint, Lumen, Linx, etc.) tocollect, analyze, interpret, evaluate,anddisseminatecrime, arrest, intelligence, operational, and procedural data using moderndata and programanalysistechniques.
Conductanalysis relating to modus operandi, spatial, temporal, and statistical factors.
Correlatenew informationwith existing information toidentifyemerging, evolving,or existing patterns, series,and hotspot activity.
Attend weekly team meetings to receive and provide relevant programmatic information and present data updates to the team.
Preparereal-timeprogram analysis,monthlysummariesfor council updates, andclientworkupsresulting from research to supportCrisis Programs staff care plans; publish anddisseminatesaid materials internally and locally forstakeholderawareness and informationexchangepurposes.
Monitorbehavioral health calls for serviceactivity todeterminegeographical hot spots, peak hours, program high utilizers, trends,and other performance indicators.
Conduct research and analysis on clients’ histories and otheropen-sourceintelligence information.
Compile,create,and present materials used for problem-solving meetings to informprogram leadership,police executives,housing and community services leadership,citycounciland citizens ofquarterlyprogramactivity.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations, maps, graphs, charts,tablesand other illustrative devices that organize and simplify information to help further service provision, investigations, and program development.
Prepare maps, graphs, charts, tables,and other illustrative devices to organize information forpresentations and quarterly/ annualreports, byleveragingPower BI and similar applications.
UtilizeArcMAP/ArcPROto prepare a variety of map products as well as to conduct geospatial analysis on public safety andprogram-relateddata.
Initiate contact with other law enforcement agenciesand co-responder programsto provide and obtain information about localclientsand trends.
Respond to ad hoc requests for information.
