Hematology/Oncology APRN or PA: Outpatient Clinic

Full-time Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who will provide primarily outpatient support for Hematology and Medical Oncology practice, with occasional inpatient coverage required. Outpatient clinic responsibilities include new hematology consults, hematology and oncology follow up visits, Infusion Suite coverage.
Typical hours Mon-Fri approx. 8am-5pm with periodic weekend coverage and call for after-hours phone calls.
The ideal preferred candidate will have Oncology APP experience with management of infusion suite and outpatient Hematology and Oncology patients.
AOCNP (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner) or OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) strongly is preferred.
New graduates with Oncology experience may be considered.
Advanced Oncology Certification is expected within the first 2 years of hire and/or certification eligibility.
APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings.
Functions in collaboration with a physician according to an APRN protocol and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems.
PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty medical care
(the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions within the collaboration agreement of a Physician, as per regulatory requirements. Performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PAs in the Hospital care role provide outpatient and/or hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Outpatient/Hospital care PAs practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems.
Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Effective 05/01/2014: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.
PA
Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.

Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).
Must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s).
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing.
