This role will serve as the primary financial owner for a fast-growing regulated cross border payment company which started from the GIFT IFSC now but will now serve the world. This is a high-trust, high-ownership role — you will be the go-to person for accounts, compliance, regulatory filings, investor reporting, and treasury, working directly with the finance head. You will build and institutionalise financial processes, interface with external auditors, internal auditors, cross functional team. The ideal candidate combines technical CA depth with the flexibility and speed of a startup environment.Roles & Responsibilities:
• Drive all FEMA / RBI compliances — ODI filings, APR, FLA, Form FC, UIN maintenance, and ECB/CCD reporting.
• Ensure timely GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C), TDS/TCS filings, advance tax, transfer pricing
• Evaluate direct tax and indirect tax implications on all business arrangements (customer contracts, vendor contracts)
• Assist in corporate restructuring and transaction advisory
• Coordinate with Big-4 / mid-tier auditors for statutory and internal audits across all entities.
• Manage multi-currency bank accounts and optimise foreign currency exposure across jurisdictions.
• Track and administer structured instruments — CCDs, CCPS — including compliance with Companies Act Section 2(57) and Ind AS 32.
• Prepare monthly cash burn, escrow reconciliation and reporting.
• Monitor working capital positions and prepare short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Manage banking relationships, credit lines, and payment gateway settlements.
• Own end-to-end bookkeeping and financial statements across all entities.
• Prepare standalone and consolidated MIS reports, P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow statements on a monthly basis.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries for consolidation.
• Maintain books in compliance with Ind AS.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, scenario planning, and funding decisions
• Prepare board and investor decks with financial highlights, variance analysis, and key metrics.
• Support pricing, unit economics, and product profitability analysis for new payment corridors.
• Act as finance business partner to the product, operations, and partnerships teams.
• Design the SOP library for accounts payable, expense management, payment authorisation, period-close, escrow accounting.
• Implement and maintain ERP / accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, or equivalent) with appropriate access controls.
• Establish internal controls framework suited to a regulated fintech operating across multiple jurisdiction
• Drive adoption of automation tools to reduce manual effort in reconciliations and reporting
Chartered Accountant (ICAI) — mandatory. No exceptions.
3-5 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in a fintech, payments, or financial services company.
Hands-on experience with FEMA, RBI regulations, and cross-border transaction compliance.
Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / equivalent accounting software.
Strong command of Ind AS, GST, TDS, and Indian corporate law.
Experience managing statutory audits and liaising with auditors independently.
Advanced Excel /
• Exposure to GIFT City IFSC regulatory framework (IFSCA, PSLA, FEMA IFSC notifications)..
• Understanding of LEI requirements, SWIFT, NOSTRO/VOSTRO, and cross-border settlement mechanics.
• Prior experience in cross border payments.
• Understanding of AI tools and models.
This is not a team-manager role — it is a deeply hands-on individual contributor position.
