What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are seeking energetic, guest-focused, and hands-on Beach Ambassadors to join our team at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa. In this dynamic outdoor role, you will serve as a frontline ambassador, delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and pristine appearance of our stunning beach and pool areas. This position combines warm hospitality, safety oversight, light maintenance, and operational support to create a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable experience for every guest year-round.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Services & Interaction — Welcome guests warmly, verify permits/wristbands/tickets, explain beach and pool rules, policies, and safety guidelines clearly and professionally. Answer inquiries, provide assistance, and resolve concerns with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Safety & Compliance — Actively monitor the pool, beach, and oceanfront areas to ensure guest safety (with special attention to children). Respond promptly to incidents, coordinate with lifeguards and staff, report hazards immediately, and enforce all safety protocols.
- Facility Maintenance & Upkeep — Perform daily routine and preventive maintenance to keep beach and pool areas pristine and appealing, including raking debris, collecting litter, power washing surfaces, minor repairs to furniture/equipment (e.g., tightening fittings, touch-up painting, basic fixes to umbrellas/chairs), maintaining pathways, and ensuring fixtures/structures are in excellent condition.
- Cleaning & Organization — Maintain exceptional cleanliness by restocking supplies (towels, sunscreen, etc.), cleaning restrooms/showers, emptying trash, brushing/vacuuming pool areas, organizing equipment/storage, and setting up/arranging furniture as needed.
- Rentals & Concessions — Assist guests with beach chair, umbrella, and pool float rentals; process payments; set up equipment; and manage food/beverage sales (snacks, ice cream, drinks) while adhering to health and safety standards.
- Operational Support — Support lifeguards by monitoring swimmer safety, assisting with basic pool maintenance (checking water levels, skimming debris), and reporting issues. Safely operate mobility equipment (e.g., Segway or utility vehicles) for patrolling and transporting supplies; perform light preventive maintenance on tools/equipment.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs for extended periods in an outdoor, tropical environment.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions (sun, heat, rain, wind) while maintaining high performance and safety.
- Good coordination and balance for safe equipment operation.
What are we looking for?
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in customer service, hospitality, recreation, beach/pool operations, or general maintenance/handyman work is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; friendly, professional, and approachable attitude.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay composed in a fast-paced, guest-facing setting.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols, emergency response, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Comfortable performing physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training can be provided if needed).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English (primary workplace language).
- Experience with basic tools, pool/beach upkeep, light repairs, or concession operations is a plus.
Work Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Flexible scheduling required, including weekends, public holidays, peak seasons, early mornings, evenings, extended hours, and on-call availability as needed.
