Job Description
Objective
The Senior Inspection Manager (China & Indonesia) safeguards the company’s business integrity and minimizes operational risks by leading the inspection team to conduct comprehensive audits, investigations, and compliance checks across all sales channels (including new and emerging platforms). The role ensures inspection processes are effective, transparent, and continuously improved, and delivers actionable insights and recommendations to management—driving timely corrective actions. Key outputs include high-quality inspection reports, risk assessments, and effective management of both in-house and third-party inspection resources.
Key Accountabilities
Lead inspection team management (China) and third-party oversight
- Lead overall management of the China Inspection Team (direct team + third-party project oversight), with a focus on capability building.
Optimize inspection processes and SOPs
- Continuously improve inspection processes and SOPs to ensure standardized, compliant, and efficient operations.
Risk-oriented assessment and advanced analytics
- Lead risk-oriented assessment of promotion and marketing costs.
- Strengthen the rigor and depth of analytics on distributor sell-in, sell-out, POS, and inventory data.
- Direct the team to use data insights to identify high-risk expense types and deploy inspection resources accordingly.
Execute and oversee inspections and investigations
- Be responsible for routine distributor inspections, key regional/project inspections, sales KPI audits, and anti-diversion/anti-fraud investigations.
Reporting and driving corrective actions
- Organize and deliver monthly inspection reports and special investigation reports.
- Drive follow-up actions and continuous improvement based on findings.
Outsourced inspection planning and execution
- Oversee third-party project management and develop/executed outsourced inspection plans to address capacity and geographical coverage gaps.
Cross-functional liaison and risk escalation
- Serve as the primary liaison across departments and with the China Risk Committee, ensuring smooth information flow and escalation of significant risks.
Team development and training
- Support team development through regular professional training and experience sharing to提升整体团队能力.
KPIs/Dimensions of this role
Financial (scope/impact):
- Impact on millions of dollars in promotion/marketing costs and distributor inventory through risk mitigation, waste reduction, and compliance with cost controls.
Non-Financial (delivery/quality):
- Timely delivery of monthly inspection reports and special investigation reports, with actionable recommendations.
- Effective execution of distributor inspections, sales KPI audits, and anti-diversion/anti-fraud investigations.
- Demonstrated improvements to inspection SOPs/process standardization and operating efficiency.
- Effective third-party inspection project delivery (coverage/capacity gap closure).
- Completion of regular team training/experience sharing activities to build capability.
Key Relationships
Internal (regular interaction):
- Commercial team, Ethics & Compliance (E&C), Legal, Finance: daily/weekly collaboration on risk assessment, process optimization, and report delivery.
- China Risk Committee: information sharing and escalation of significant risks.
- Examples of key stakeholder roles in China (from peers list): Head of GTM (China), Head of China FP&A and Commercial Finance, Financial Controller (China), Head of Ethics & Compliance (AEM), Senior Legal Counsel (China).
External (regular interaction):
- Third-party inspection vendors / outsourced inspection partners: oversight, coordination, and project execution.
- External audit partners: coordination and alignment where applicable.
Skills/Competencies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Audit, Law, or related fields.
Experience
- 8+ years in inspection, audit, anti-fraud, or related fields.
- Proven team management experience; third-party project management experience preferred.
- Familiarity with channel management, sales commission/KPI audit, and new business models (e.g., O2O/EC).
- FMCG industry experience preferred.
