We set and achieve bold ambitions in our fight against the worldâs most devastating diseases, united in our commitment to confronting the largest public health challenges of our day and improving the lives of patients for generations to come.⯠As a Senior Director, HCP Promotions you will be an integral part of a fast paced highly collaborative team, who are on a mission to increase awareness, knowledge, relevancy, and usage of PrEP as part of preventative health for all who could benefit from it.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of marketers to oversee the development and implementation of promotional strategies and tactics (personal and non-personal) for HCPs to drive adoption of multiple products.  Â
- Make recommendations for where to play (segments, geographies, etc.), how to win (tactics, promotional strategies, positioning, channel strategies, marketing mix, etc.), and where to invest across multiple products in the PrEP portfolioÂ
- Oversee the development of the HCP Plan of Action (POA) for field sales teams inclusive of call flow, messaging, and reactive talking points, etc.Â
- Demonstrated ability to partner with sales leadership to plan and implement brand strategic priorities, inspire and inform field team, and support performance outcomesÂ
- Partners with internal stakeholders to support ultimate outcomes of field team and pull through of brand strategy at territory levelÂ
- Possesses in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical sales, market landscape, key trends, and implications on business strategyÂ
- Expertly communicates insights and recommendations derived from complex analysis, using an array of frameworks, models, and methods based on the situationÂ
- Identifies key metrics for success (KPI) and adjusts management strategies to maximize product performanceÂ
- Cultivate relationships with thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizationsÂ
- Lead select cross-functional workstreams and projects as needed to support product portfolio Â
- Represents US Commercial (Marketing/Sales) on Global Workstreams and Key US Cross-Functional Workstreams and partners for outcomes supporting aligned US strategiesÂ
- Oversee all HCP agency relationships and performanceÂ
- Leads acute and systemic problem solving with internal and external partners Â
- Acts as a strategic advisor informing all key strategic decisions related to product portfolioÂ
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplinesÂ
- Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/prioritiesÂ
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting before executive staffÂ
- Track record of successful budget management; expert expense budget planning and trackingÂ
- Identifies and analyzes complex problems and situations where there may be little precedent, guides teams to make decisions and/or recommendations Â
- A champion for continuous improvement, new ideas, and initiatives that drive the business forwardÂ
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policiesÂ
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- 10+ years of experience.Â
- A Bachelorâs degree in marketing or related fields is preferred.Â
- An advanced science degree or an advanced business degree such as an MBA is desirable.Â
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry including expertise in marketing, US marketing or sales experience as a first line leader is preferredÂ
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team and in leading teams, with demonstrated track record of people developmentÂ
- Adept at forming and maintaining a collaborative work environment within cross functional teamsÂ
- Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product life cycle managementâincluding product launches is strongly preferredÂ
- Strategic thinker with innovative mindset that can make decisive decisions, prioritize tradeoffs, and effectively communicate recommendations among a set of key strategic choicesÂ
- An entrepreneurial thinker who is confident working within a fast paced and challenging environmentÂ
- Expert understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is requiredÂ
- Strong desire and ability to work in a face-paced and dynamic environmentÂ
- A minimum of 5 years in product marketing or advertising in the pharma/healthcare space is preferred Â
- Experience in HIV and/or HIV prevention therapeutic area a plus. Comfortable discussing topics relevant to the HIV prevention space, including sexual health, mental health, and substance use expected
- Ability to travel: Â up to 25%.Â

The salary range for this position is: $261,375.00 - $338,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
