As a Gensler Project ArchitectforCritical Facilities, Industrialand Life Sciencesin Gensler's Columbus office, you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. What You Will DoÂ
Collaborate on design projects in the critical facilities, industrialand life sciences,including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development,and documentationÂ
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectivesÂ
Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV,acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)Â
Assistin resolving complex technical and design issuesÂ
Assistin managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordinationÂ
Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selectionsrequiredfor constructionÂ
Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samplesÂ
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programsÂ
Your QualificationsÂ
Bachelor's degreeBachelorâs orMasterâs degree in Architecturefrom a professionally accredited program
Licensure required Â
10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural designÂ
Experience within Critical Facilities projects (i.e.data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) or similarly complex projects(i.e.science/labs/national labs, light-industrial/manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing,healthcare,aviation & transportation, etc.) preferredÂ
Proficiencywith SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but notrequired
Strong Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office experience desired. AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino,Enscape,VRayalsobeneficialÂ
Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants Â
Experience working directly with contractors Â
Experience inresolving complex technical and design issues Â
Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiplejurisdictions
Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done Â
Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills Â
Previousexperience in sustainable design projectsis preferable.Especiallybuilt projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard,Fitwel,and /or Net Zero Building certificationÂ
