As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, healthbackgroundsand conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable,safeand properly informed throughout the entire process, helpingfacilitatea welcoming and supportive experience. A caregiver in this positionworksdays, 6:30amâ3:30pm or 11:00amâ7:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â
Acquireand review patientquestionnaire,chartand data/requisitiontodeterminecontraindication of having MRIexamination.Â
Perform MRI proceduresrequiredper protocol and perform daily QA.Â
Educate patientsregardingMRI procedures, equipment, and exams.Â
Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.Â
Report any malfunctions andobservepotential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.Â
Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.Â
Processes billing via RIS.Â
Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.Â
Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRTÂ
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT), R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(T)(ARRT)] in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(N) (ARRT)] OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification BoardÂ
Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] Certification within one year of hireÂ
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)orAmerican Red CrossÂ
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or in other imaging modalities
