Registered Respiratory Therapists(RRTs)provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema,COPDand lung cancer.By joining our team as anRRT, you will enjoy day-to-day interactions with patients, allowing you to advance your skills, hands-on,and potentially move into leadership roles down the line.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from3:00PM – 11:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide assessment, treatment,careand evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
Implement andmonitorpatient care plans.
Assess patients for theappropriate typeand frequency of treatment and develop,implementandmonitorpatient care plans.
Monitor,recordand communicate patients’ conditions.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications andtreatmentsand perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduateof an accredited Respiratory TherapyProgram
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certificationwhenappropriate forsite
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Prior experience inCriticalCareand/or performing invasive procedures
Neonatal/pediatric experiencewhenappropriate forsite
Bachelor’sDegree
Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
