Engineering Technician 1 (Backend Day Shift)

This role will be transitioning to our Backend Day Shift Pattern in Q4 2026. This will consist of 12-hour night shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

Shift Premium: 15% premium only for Sat/Sun, no shift premium for Thurs/Fri

Under the direction of theEngineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician 1 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation,validationand transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines. 

Where you come in:  

• You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions,layoutsor defined plans to perform testing,checkoutand trouble-shooting functions. 

• You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment 

• You will have experience with pneumatics, electromechanical systems, PLCs, and roboticsystems in ahigh-volumemanufacturing environment.

• You willoperate, test, ormaintainrobotic equipment and vision systems. 

• You willanalyseand record test results, and prepare written documentation 

• You will perform operationaltestand fault isolation on automated systems and equipment. 

• You will carry out activities in equipment development underthe supervisionof the project engineer.  These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations. 

• You will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/TagOut(LOTO) program. 

• You will assume and perform other duties as assigned. 

• You will perform all assigned tasks withappropriate safetyrequirements. 

• You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed. 

What makes you successful:  

• Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of1-2 years of related experience 

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications 

• Ability towriteroutine reports, pass downs and correspondence 

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors,engineersand managers 

• Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Electro/Mechanicalsystemsand Packaging equipmenthighlydesirable.

• Experience with process improvement projectsi.e.improving yields, reducing downtime

• Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment 

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills 

• Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturingequipmentand processes 

• Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation
