We are seeking a General Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our catering operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, service, and cleanliness whilst maintaining a professional and organised approach to all duties.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of Baguettes wraps and salads, following established recipes and portion guidelines
- Able to use a high pressure Barista style coffee machine
- Knowledge of EPOS cashless payment system
- Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies
- Support the setup and breakdown of catering areas, ensuring all equipment is clean and properly stored
- Assist with food service, including plating, garnishing, and presenting dishes to required standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including regular cleaning of work surfaces, equipment, and utensils
- Support the catering team in meeting service deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Handle and store food items correctly, adhering to temperature control and stock rotation procedures
- Assist in taking inventory and reporting on stock levels as required
- Respond professionally to guest requests and dietary requirements
- Work flexibly as part of a team, supporting colleagues during busy service periods
