The Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing is one of seven departments within UABS. The department is organised into two disciplinary areas: āMarketing Science and Consumer Researchā and āStrategic, Industrial and Digital Marketingā. These areas contribute across programmes within UABS, including undergraduate degrees, postgraduate taught and research programmes, executive education and PhD.
The advertised position sits within the Marketing Science and Consumer Research Disciplinary Area. Members of this area publish in leading journals in marketing, business analytics and related disciplines, and teach across undergraduate and Masterās-level programmes.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and collegial academic with a strong trajectory in research and teaching in Marketing Analytics.
This is an exciting time to join the Business School, with continued growth in Marketing Analytics - including the recent expansion from one to two student intakes per year in the Master of Business Analytics - reflecting strong demand and investment in this area.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in areas such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for marketing applications. It would be desirable for applicants to have experience teaching courses on topics such as Customer Insights Analytics and Digital Marketing Analytics.
At Lecturer level, candidates should demonstrate clear potential to publish in leading journals in marketing, business analytics and related disciplines. At Senior Lecturer level, candidates should have already published in such outlets and have developed a portfolio of publications, including some in top-tier journals.
Candidates should be able to contribute to teaching across marketing and related disciplines. Teaching is expected to align with the University of Aucklandās TeachWell framework, and we welcome applicants who bring a thoughtful, innovative and engaging approach to teaching, including the use of varied pedagogies.
This is a full-timeāÆ(40 hours per week),āÆpermanentāÆappointment.

Our ideal candidate will be an engaged and collaborative academic, contributing to the Department and, more specifically, the Marketing Science and Consumer Research Disciplinary Area across a wide range of scholarly activities and engagement. You will have strong communication skills and be able to clearly articulate your plans and ideas.
Suitably qualified with a PhD in Marketing or a closely related discipline (or close to completion), you will also bring the following skills and experience:
