Security Officer

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Security

• Protect people, property, and information by preventing unauthorised access.
• Monitor alarms, CCTV systems, and security equipment.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
• Manage parking areas and complete lock/unlock duties.
• Respond to and report incidents promptly and accurately.
• Maintain and check security equipment, passes, and records.

Health & Safety

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
• Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Follow emergency procedures, including First Aid when required.
• Keep accurate documentation in line with site and company standards.

Loss Prevention

• Identify risks such as theft, vandalism, or suspicious behaviour.
• Help reduce waste and unnecessary energy use through proactive monitoring.
• Support investigations and ensure all findings are recorded.

Crime Prevention & Deterrence

• Use radios and other security devices effectively.
• Conduct searches when required by site policy.
• Investigate, report, and escalate suspicious activity appropriately.

Customer Service

• Provide professional and courteous support to staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Handle queries and offer assistance in a helpful manner.
• Maintain high standards of personal presentation and professionalism.

Additional Duties

• Complete thorough handovers and maintain all relevant paperwork.
• Attend training sessions to keep skills and qualifications up to date.
• Follow all company and site policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Carry out any reasonable duties assigned by management.
