Purpose:
The Engineering Manufacturing Technician actively partners with the business to provide expertise in driving manufacturing excellence through support and execution.
Core Functions of Position:
Technical Support (50%): Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on specialty equipment at the Metal Casting Facility. This includes mullers, plant robotics, generators, Disamatch, infrared inspections and electrical controls upkeep. Assists vendors and contractors on scheduled maintenance repairs and builds knowledge base for ownership in the future. Assists Zurich with insurance and risk assessments and formulates plans to address findings. Troubleshoots all specialty equipment when needed involving production or safety automated systems and performs some repair. Participates on various safety and machine guarding committees as an active partner who will address findings and engineering control implementations. Performs detailed troubleshooting analysis on robotic equipment and formulates solutions.
Machine Programming (20%): Troubleshoots and maintains programming MCF industrial controls on production and specialty equipment spanning Kuka, Foxall, and various PLCs. Maintains knowledge of safety automated systems and provides programming assistance where needed. Assists contractors currently performing programming duties and prepares to own function in the future.
Project Assistant (20%): Assists engineering and operations team in the implementation of new equipment, serving as a knowledge resource in project formulation, partnering with contractors throughout implementation process and owning maintenance plan after installation. Provides hands on and technical oversite on equipment retrofits and upgrades.
Manufacturing Execution (10%): Facilitates an infrastructure that pulls manufacturing data, processes the information, and delivers actionable feedback to the operations team.
