The Mechanical Engineer II plays a key role in designing and delivering HVAC and mechanical utility systems for complex building environments. This position supports projects across all phases — from early studies through construction administration — and contributes to high‑quality, code‑compliant technical solutions for our clients.
You will perform engineering calculations, develop mechanical system designs, prepare reports and specifications, coordinate with internal and external partners, and help guide early‑career team members. Using BIM, CAD, and engineering software, you will help bring innovative, functional, and constructible solutions to life.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer ready to expand technical depth, increase responsibility, and contribute directly to project success.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Design & Analysis
- Perform load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, and code evaluations.
- Design mechanical systems (airside, chilled water, condenser water, hot water, steam, natural gas, compressed air, etc.) in coordination with other disciplines.
- Size mechanical equipment, ductwork, and piping; develop system schematics and technical design documentation.
- Produce plans, P&IDs, schedules, and installation details using BIM and CAD tools.
Project Execution
- Develop design and construction drawing packages; edit specifications for projects of basic to moderate complexity.
- Support all design phases: conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Participate in squad checks and maintain commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality deliverables.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Interface with clients, contractors, trade partners, and equipment manufacturers.
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, contribute to punch lists, and assist with construction progress documentation.
- Work closely with senior engineers to ensure coordinated, constructible designs.
- Provide mentorship and task delegation to Mechanical Designer I and other early‑career team members.
Professional Growth
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities.
- Expand technical skillsets to include design and specification of increasingly complex mechanical systems.
