The Plant Controller is responsible for providing high-level accounting support to our Lithia Springs, GA manufacturing plant. This role will play a key role in the finance department, providing expertise and leadership in various accounting and financial functions. With a strong background in accounting principles and experience in the manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform complex reconciliations for accounts such as inventory, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of financial data for audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Participate in cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with the cost accounting team to analyze product costs and recommend cost-saving strategies.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and industry trends and implement best practices accordingly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
