What you鈥檒l do
Be a part of a special care team delivering care to our client who is a delightful child and support him to reach his full potential.
During the school day, carers are responsible for monitoring the client's tracheostomy and carrying out suctioning when needed, ensuring all emergency equipment is available and checked. You will provide full supervision while he attends school, due to his high activity levels and falls risk.
You will be required to support communication using Makaton and visual cues, and assist with feeding his parent-prepared pureed meals while monitoring closely for choking or aspiration.
Alongside this you will need to provide personal care, oversee bowel movement monitoring, and maintain a calm, structured environment to support his ASD needs.
Ensuring equipment such as the blue box and suction machine are ready, provide stimulating activities to prevent boredom, monitor skin integrity, and liaise with school staff to maintain consistency and safety throughout the day.
