AECOM is looking to recruit a Candidate Engineer - Geotechnical
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a wide range of ground engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to assist with site investigations, including organising fieldwork, logging soils and rocks, supervising contractors, and compiling factual information for reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to apply fundamental soil and rock mechanics principles to real‑world design problems under guidance from senior engineers.
- Interest in developing technical skills, including geotechnical design of foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and earthworks, with training and mentorship provided.
- Enthusiasm for producing clear, well‑structured technical documents, such as desk studies, factual reports, field logs, and preliminary design notes.
- Willingness to learn industry‑standard software, such as geotechnical modelling tools, slope stability programs, and CAD platforms.
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues, ask questions, and present your work effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, taking initiative and showing curiosity when exploring new geotechnical challenges.
- Commitment to professional development, including working towards professional registration over time.
