As part of AECOM’s continued growth and success in the Southwestern Ontario Municipal Water Market, we are actively seeking a creative and highly talented Project Manager to deliver important infrastructure projects for the communities we serve. This new Project Manager role will lead a variety of drinking water and wastewater projects including treatment, pumping, storage, and related infrastructure. Projects may include planning and feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design, tendering, construction, commissioning, and close-out. This role can be based in AECOM’s Hamilton, Kitchener, or London offices.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Lead a high performing team in the delivery of complex multidisciplinary drinking water and wastewater projects.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving project delivery, technical and client challenges.
- Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.
- Lead team in the completion of design deliverables including completing technical reports, preparing technical specifications and tender documents, and reviewing design drawings.
- Lead quality reviews of deliverables including confirming conformance with project requirements and objectives, and arranging for senior engineers to review work.
- Lead permitting applications for provincial and local regulatory agencies.
- Manage services through the construction period including contract administration, site inspection, SCADA application development, testing, start-up, commissioning, and post-construction warranty.
- Work with project teams, operations, and senior leadership to promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor and control project scope, manage project schedules, identify and manage project risk, and control budgets. Work collaboratively with operations to track and achieve key financial performance metrics.
- Participate in business development activities including pursuit and proposal development for new drinking water and wastewater projects with both existing and new clients.
- Provide mentorship and guidance of early career project staff.
- Actively engage in professional development and industry events.
