AECOM Canada ULC is actively seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Burnaby, BC with extensive experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, liquefaction analysis and dynamic analysis of machine foundations. The candidate is also expected to have extensive experience in the design and construction of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, embankments, railways, highways and airports, excavation support systems, tunnels, trenchless construction including microtunneling and horizontal directional drilling, staged embankment construction in conjunction with pre-fabricated vertical drains and ground improvement methods (stone columns, rigid inclusions, soil mixing, dynamic compaction). The successful candidate will have opportunity to work on major transportation, water resources, marine, civil infrastructure and building projects. The successful candidate will have a key role in the development and growth of our geotechnical practice in Canada. This role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to:
· Work with diverse teams of engineers, designers and drafters from conceptual design through preliminary and final design.
· Manage projects and be responsible for completion on schedule and financial performance.
· Resolve complex geotechnical issues.
· Write, compile, and review geotechnical reports and proposals for major projects.
· Prepare and present technical papers and contribute to advancement of earth science in our area of technical specialization.
· Maintain quality throughout a project and implement improvements when determined.
· Prepare project summary reports.
· Resolve claims with respect to deferring ground conditions:
· Encourage growth within the group and improve the general knowledge base throughout the company.
· Develop and sustain long-lasting business relationships with clients.
· Be a role model and technical mentor for our staff; and travel within Canada when required.
